Volunteer

AbleVoices volunteers are an important part of our organization and programming.

AbleVoices seeks volunteers for a variety of tasks:

  • Assist young adult photographers with disabilities with a variety of activities, including: sharing, editing and printing digital photos, writing thank you notes to supporters, making photo products for sale at local markets and stores, preparing for community exhibits and special projects etc. Support and instructions are provided for all tasks for volunteers to follow.

  • Assist photographers during photography club outings and events in the community.

  • Administrative help: scanning, data entry, organizing, equipment inventory, etc.

  • Professional skills such as marketing, technology, fundraising, etc.

Thank you to our volunteers!

Photographer and Nashville Zoo docent, Rebecca Martin, joined us on a 2020 summer club outing to the zoo and provided so much insightful and interesting information about the animals. AbleVoices participant, Alex, was so inspired by learning about the tigers that he went home, did more research, put together a Power Point presentation, and shared it with his family later that day!

Lana VanPamel is a graduate of the Centennial High School Transition 2 program, an AbleVoices photographer, and talented artist. She helps out AbleVoices by hand-drawing our logo on bags used to sell our photo greeting cards at local farmer’s markets and fairs and on our website. Thanks to Lana for her special added touch! Check our our line of photo greeting cards at the AbleVoices’ store at www.ablevoices.org/store!
